After touring Atlantic Canada for 2 weeks we ended up in Darthmouth for 2 nights before flying back to Europe.
Found Pleasant st.diner on the internet and decided to give it a try.
As it was very crowded we were given a seat opposite the kitchen so we had a prime view on the chefs preparing the food.
This was ik in 2019 and i still wish i could go back again someday!
Best diner in the world.

Best clams, best service and hugh plates of whatever you ordered! Always gave advice to us and our grand children. His clients always came first and were acknowledged with a hello. Will be sadly missed - condolences to the family - 'keep on, keeping on'.

I went for lunch on Thursday and was pleasantly surprised to have the best fish and chips in the city. Tammy, my server provided excellent service. I was surprised to learn that the owners of Pleasant Street Diner are the previous of John’s Lunch. This explains why the food is the best around.

I grew up in South Woodside, but haven't lived in N.S. since 1983. I remember when Pleasant St. Diner was a Royal Bank branch. My wife and I returned to N.S. twice in 2022 - in June and October. On both occasions, we stopped at Pleasant St. Diner to eat. I don't usually eat clams, but the clams & chips there are fantastic. My wife had the fish chowder once and said it may have been the best she ever had. The staff are great - very friendly and helpful. We'll be back.

We just had a great lunch at this diner! What a pleasant (pardon the pun) place to eat! Super friendly staff! The food was amazing! One of the owners (Fotis) came around and asked every patron how the food was!! The place was very clean and the food came very fast!!

My husband and I, along with our friends had traveled to Canada on a 12- day road trip. After 6 days going thru Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec City, we came to Nova Scotia to travel the area. Our first stop was in Dartmouth and we decided to go to Pleasant Street Diner. We were throughly pleased with the food, service, staff and knowledge learned that Sidney Crosby, my favorite Pittsburgh Penguins player was from Dartmouth and his parents lived there! The calamari salad was uniquely delicious, the fish was fresh and yummy and the seafood chowder the best we’ve ever tasted! It left such an impression on us that for our final night in NS, we were going to have dinner with our new friends at Pleasant Street Diner!! Thank you to Tommy, Danielle and the staff for their kindness and friendship! We will definitely visit you again if we return to your beautiful country!

Why didn't we stumble across this gem sooner. Staff very friendly. Wife and I ordered the seafood platter and panko crusted onion rings. The food was unbelievable, with an abundance of clams, scallops and shrimp (plus a piece of fish). Other seafood places we've dined at load you down with fries and smaller portions of seafood. Our meal was nicely balance. You get your money's worth.

Coming home to Dartmouth wouldn't be the same without seeing the familiar friendly faces at Pleasant Street Diner, every time it makes my day. The food and staff will have you wanting to return, there may be a 15min wait, it's very popular, so stand back and watch the interaction. I'm home for a week, already been there twice. Most first OF ALL we love you Tommy, loll, and if I had a choice to dine in New York City for a for a 4 course sit down meal I would choose Pleasant Street Dinner, HANDS DOWN, no one cooks like your family does, and you always feel welcome, love you also Mama, your food is amazing and never to be disappointed no matter what you order.

It's just this simple if you want good food this is the place to go ate there a thousand times the price is good and you don't leave hungry from fish and chips clams and chips seafood chowder it just doesn't stop excellent place you need to try it and the owners brought up by old school parents they know how to treat a customer no more needs to be said but to try it oh yes if you like coconut cream pie you'll like this one homemade

We come to the restaurant for our 3rd time on my birthday and as the owner has done everytime before he come out to ask us how our food is we said great and my wife told the owner it was my birthday, he proceeded to pull out a $5 bill told me to go buy a lottery ticket. This place has the best owners, best food, biggest orders, and best customer service you will find in dartmouth Thank you 10/10 In my rating suggest this place to everyone I see

We got to go out to one of our favorite places to eat yesterday. The food is AMAZING each and every visit. We had the famous fish and chips and scallops and they were amazing. There homemade coleslaw is one of a kind and the service is Top rate!! The owners always make you feel like you are family and personally say hi to all! Never ever disappoints. Thank you one and all for another AMAZING MEAL 😄💕

This has to be one of the best diners if not the best in Nova Scotia. Our little family of grown children and grandson like to get together once in a while at a food establishment. Our son's partner suggested this diner, they love it and go often and wanted to share it with the rest of us. The staff is so accommodating and very generous with their time and the food was delicious. Who I believe might be the owner came over and took some time to chat with our 3 year old grandson. I was truly impressed. I would recommend this establishment to anyone without reservation to anyone, I believe that no matter how critical they are ... they would find this establishment awesome. Thank you Pleasant St Diner for your wonderful gift to the community.

I’ve never been in the restaurant but the food is great and so is the staff! A family member of mine works there. Whenever I’ve met people in staff there they’ve been so nice
